Schedule Management

Strict adherence to a schedule is a key ingredient in a successful construction project. A project that is not progressing smoothly impacts the contractor, and most importantly, the owner. Once a completion date is agreed upon it must be met. Based on the history of our company, we take extreme pride in on-time completion for our projects.

We use the following types of scheduling for our projects:

  • Construction Schedule

  • Two-Week Schedule of Objectives

  • Progress Analysis and Reporting

Construction Schedule

After contract award and prior to mobilization the successful bidder will develop a working schedule. The contractor’s schedule will reflect the following:

  • Schedule dates will be within the parameters of the Master Schedule.

  • Schedule format may vary based on the requirements of the individual contractor.

  • Schedule will be in sufficient detail to relate to other construction activities and to effectively measure progress.

Two-Week Schedule of Objectives

Using the Construction Schedule as the baseline document, a two-week schedule will be prepared to provide a “real time” plan for construction activities over a two-week period.

This will be prepared as follows:

  • A weekly meeting will be held with the Project Team to

    • Review each activity scheduled to start or be completed within two weeks following the week of the meeting

    • Identify the items required to accomplish each activity, i.e.

      • Coordination with other contractors

      • Engineering

      • Prerequisite Activities

      • Access

      • Material

      • Construction Equipment

      • Manpower

    • Verify availability of the required items.

    • Based on the actual results of the required items, a bar chart or tabular schedule will be prepared covering the construction activities for the next two weeks.
